US chemical spill hits water supply

Around 300,000 people in the US state of West Virginia have been told to avoid drinking tap water after a chemical spill into a river.

A chemical used to prepare coal leaked into the Elk river.

There are worries it may have got into the water supply.

Schools have been closed, shops have been running out of bottled water, and people haven't been able to do things like take a shower.
