3,2,1 and take-off! This is NASA's Minotaur V rocket being launched into space from Virginia in America. On board is the Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) but no astronauts. This is an unmanned mission that will orbit the moon to help gather information about the moon for scientists on Earth to study.

An engineer works on the the LADEE device which is the size of a small car. It fits into the nose cone of the Minotaur V rocket. The device will be orbiting the moon to gather detailed information about its atmosphere. Scientists hope this information will help them understand more about our solar system.

Children take part in the sack race at the annual Braemer Highland Games at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Braemar, Scotland. The Braemar Gathering is the most famous of the Highland Games and is known worldwide. Each year thousands of visitors head to the small Scottish village on the first Saturday in September to watch one of the more colourful Scottish traditions. The Gathering has a long history and in its modern form it stretches back nearly 200 years.
