Can you count how many dogs there are in the picture? Only kidding! But there are loads of dogs here as this is the Guinness World Record attempt at the biggest 'dog stay'. It took place at Rockingham Castle in Leicestershire, but sadly they didn't end up breaking the record.

Ashton Eaton, from America, crosses the finish line ahead of Damian Warner of Canada in their men's decathlon 100 metres event during the IAAF World Athletics Championships at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow. The competition officially starts today and finishes on 19th August.

Now there are some random awards out there, but this has got to be one of the weirdest prizes you can win... Dave Baxter is celebrating after winning a contest for having the most impressive sideburns. He grew them so they looked like those of a famous commodore that lived in the 1800s.

The Wanted in Vegas! The boys - Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaren, Max George and Tom Parker performed at The Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Nevada as part of a tour for their new album Word of Mouth.

A volunteer carries a flamingo chick at the Fuente de Piedra lake, which is an important breeding ground for flamingos in that part of the world. The volunteers have helped to tag the birds so experts can monitor them. The lake, which is 70 kilometres from Malaga, is also a nature reserve and a haven for other birds - with over 170 different species recorded.

Maria Laizan competes in a time trial to pull an 11-ton bus along a 20 metres (66 feet) long course during the Strongest Women of Russia 2013 tournament in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk. The tournament is part of a series of events to commemorate Athlete Day, which is celebrated every year.
