BBC's Paul Mason reports from Taksim Square, Istanbul

Violent protests continued for a fourth night in towns and cities across Turkey.

A second person has reportedly died and police have had to use tear gas and water cannons against demonstrators.

One of Turkey's big trade union groups has also said it will stage a two-day strike.

The strike is expected to affect schools and universities along with government offices.

The unrest in Turkey began when police tried to stop a demonstration over plans to build over a public park in the city of Istanbul.
