More than half a million people in the UK are now relying on food banks, a new report suggests.

The charities Oxfam and Church Action on Poverty say the number of people seeking emergency help with hunger has doubled on the previous year.

They reckon up to half of those needing food banks are because of benefits being delayed, cut or taken away.

They're calling on the government to investigate the impact of benefit changes.
