Footballer Rio Ferdinand has pulled out of England's World Cup qualifiers matches against San Marino and Montenegro.
He met with team manager Roy Hodgson, who said Rio had to withdraw due to "the detailed pre-planned training and medical programme."
"I'm disappointed Rio will not be available, but due to the detailed medical programme he must follow it's not possible," said Hodgson.
Despite his decision, the Manchester United is still keen to play on the England quad.
"... my passion and commitment to represent my country is as strong as ever," said Ferdinand.
Ferdinand's withdrawal comes just days after being recalled to the England squad for the qualifier matches.
His last England appearance had been in June 2011.
