Pictures: Awesome images of Earth taken from space
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has been tweeting amazing pictures of Earth taken from the International Space Station.
This picture was taken of Lake Baikal in Russia. The huge lake is the deepest in the world and is home the one of only three species of freshwater seals on our planet.
On Thursday when the ISS was over Italy, Commander Hadfield snapped this picture of Mount Etna spewing hot ash and steam high up into the clouds.
From space Commander Hadfield could see floodwaters pouring straight through the city of Bundaberg and into the ocean in the Australian state of Queensland.
Originally from Canada, the astronaut took this pic when he was over his home country. It shows a snow covered Hamilton on the tip of Lake Ontario, which is one of the five great lakes of North America.
This is the Canadarm2, a robotic arm which is used to load supplies onto the ISS. The astronaut snapped this from just outside his window!
