Robots that can think for themselves and have human emotions could soon be a reality, according to scientists.

Experts at the University of Reading have been showing off robots that can cry, laugh and get angry at a special showcase just for children.

They've been demonstrating different ways of teaching robots human emotions.

One way scientists can programme robots to have feelings is by using a rat's brain to programme how they think.
