Ashley Cole will not be banned from the England football squad.
The left-back was charged with misconduct on Monday for an angry outburst against the FA about the John Terry racism case.
But on Monday night the player apologised for the comment he posted on Twitter to FA chairman David Bernstein.
Bernstein said: "He showed real remorse. I looked him in the eye and I accept that. He is free to play for England."
The chairman has said that it's now up to manager Roy Hodgson to decide whether or not to put the player in the line-up.
Cole might still miss reaching the 100 cap mark if Hodgson doesn't pick him for the side's next two matches against San Marino and Poland.
