A severely disabled man has lost his battle in court to allow a doctor to help him end his life.

Tony Nicklinson has been paralysed for the past seven years and can only communicate through blinking and a special computer.

Tony's disability means he wont ever recover and he wanted a doctor to be allowed to help him die.

The judge said it was a very difficult decision but they would not be prepared to make such a big change to the law.

At the moment if a doctor did help Tony they could be accused of murder.

Tony wanted the court to make an exception in his case and let someone end his suffering.

Tony said he's devastated at the decision and will carry on fighting to try to get the law changed.
