US experts have developed what they say are the most realistic robotic legs yet.

Writing in the Journal of Neural Engineering, they said the work could help understanding of how babies learn to walk.

They have recreated a version of the message system that tells the muscles what to do when you walk.

It could help doctors treat people who can't walk because they have damaged their spine.
