Slam dunking robot!

Students from high schools across the US have been competing in a slam dunking tournament with a twist.

The teams of up to 30 students designed robots with special basketball skills and fought to see which gadget could shoot the most hoops.

The March Madness event happens every year in Hawaii.

The top teams will now move on to the world championships which will be held at Saint Louis, Missouri next month.
