Arsenal's Champions League dream ends

Despite great play by Arsenal in their Champions League match against AC Milan, they couldn't quite do enough to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
The third goal of the night for Arsenal came from a penalty taken by Van Persie - by the end of the first half the team were 3-0 up, but they failed to score in the second half.

When Arsenal played AC Milan on Tuesday night - in their Champions League last 16 second leg match - it took Laurent Koscielny just seven minutes to put the Gunners into the lead.

Arsenal's 3-0 win meant they still lost 4-3 on aggregate and didn't secure a place in the quarter-finals. Manager Arsène Wenger now hopes the team can finish the season strongly by getting fourth place in the Premier League instead.
