Julia Donaldson - author of the famous Gruffalo story - has written a poem protesting about UK libraries which are closing.

She said she wanted to make a serious point in a fun way, because hundreds of libraries might close after council cuts.

The poem has been released to mark National Libraries Day. It describes libraries as places to "meet your heroes, old and new, from William the Conqueror to Winnie the Pooh".

She finishes by saying: "Yes, come to the library! Browse and borrow, and help make sure it'll still be here tomorrow."
