A pilot had a very lucky escape after his helicopter crashed in New Zealand.

He was helping to install a Christmas tree but the blades got caught in overhead cables snapping the helicopter in two.

It smashed into the ground but amazingly the pilot managed to walk away without serious injury.

A New Zealand TV station reported that pilot Greg Gribble had 20 years of experience flying and he's "doing fine" after the crash.
