Freak snowstorms across the north east of the United States have caused major damage; at least 12 people have died.

Americans are calling it 'Shocktober'. Some areas have had almost 70cm of snow.

More than three million homes on the east coast of the country have lost their electricity supply.

The snow has stopped flights, and the blizzards have caused trees to collapse. Americans are now battling to clear their streets and make them safe.
