Red hot lava erupts from Mount Etna

Mount Etna, a volcano on the Italian island of Sicily, has started shooting red hot lava into the air just eight days after its last eruption.

Loads of volcanic ash has also been spewing into the air, but officials say the eruptions started slowing down after a couple of hours.

Italian airliners sometimes have to alter their routes to avoid flying through ash clouds from the volcano, but the nearby airport at Catania city wasn't affected by the latest eruption.
