Parts of the Horn of Africa have been hit by a serious drought.

The United Nations says international help is urgently needed there.

More than ten million people in Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya and Uganda are affected.

The threat of famine has already forced thousands of people to flee to refugee camps.

So far, the UK has promised £38 million in food aid for Ethiopia.

The head of humanitarian affairs at the UN, called Baroness Amos, said: "In the drought-affected areas we now have 10 million people who are affected."

"We are talking about an extremely serious situation."
