Is Wikileaks Afghan expose like 1971 Pentagon Papers?


The publication of the 1971 Pentagon Papers, a top secret study of US government decision making during the Vietnam War, was key to turning the American public against the conflict.

Now Wikileaks has released 90,000 classified military records that detail the war in Afghanistan, including previously unreported civilian deaths, but can the two events be considered in the same light?

The BBC spoke to Daniel Ellsberg, who was behind the 1971 leak, to get his views on the Wikileaks Afghanistan expose and its potential impact.
