Twelve die in Pakistan bus fire

At least 12 members of a wedding party were burnt to death when their bus caught fire in northern Pakistan, police said.

Most of the dead were women and children, they said.

They were returning from a wedding in Sialkot city of Punjab province late Sunday night when their bus caught fire near Sihala in Jhelum area.

Rescue workers shifted the dead and injured to nearby hospitals in Jhelum and Gujar Khan towns.

Police say they are still investigating how the bus caught fire and why the passengers were unable to leave it and save themselves.
