Police have named a man murdered in Jersey at the weekend as 46-year-old Colin Chevalier.

His body was found in his flat in Duhamel Place, St Helier, on Saturday night. Police said he had "extensive" injuries.

Two men aged 35 and a woman aged 31 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Officers found two potential weapons at the scene but have not revealed further details.

Mr Chevalier's family is being supported by specially-trained liaison officers.

Police said forensic and evidential searches were continuing, as well as further house-to-house inquiries and witness interviews.

A VW Polo, registration J93137, which police were trying to trace in connection with the murder has now been found.

A spokesman said: "We have recovered the missing car following a call from a member of the public. It has been recovered and is at Police HQ for examination."

A Home Office pathologist flew to the island on Sunday and is due to carry out a post-mortem examination later.
