Former Grouville constable Alan Le Maistre dies

Alan Le Maistre, the former parish constable of Grouville, has died at the age of 87.

He was the "father of the parish" during the 1970s and is credited with supporting charity events and promoting the reputation of the parish.

Peter Falle, the Grouville parish administrator, said: "He worked hard for the parish and its people, he was a Jerseyman through and through."

Mr Le Maistre's son, John Le Maistre, is the current Constable of Grouville.
