Jersey to discuss making passport forgery illegal

A law making the forging of passports illegal if to be considered by Jersey.

The law, to be debated by the States in April, would mean anyone found guilty of forging a passport or knowingly purchasing one could receive up to two years in prison.

At present, Jersey has no specific legislation covering passport forgery.

The draft law would apply to all British passports and those issued by the governments of Crown Dependencies or British Overseas Territories.
