Channel Islands Air Search calls rise in 2013

Emergency calls to Channel Islands Air Search have trebled in two years.

The Lions' Pride plane was called out to 28 emergencies last year compared to 19 in 2012 and nine in 2011.

The annual report detailed the plane's missions before it was put out of action when it crashed in St Mary, Jersey, on 3 November.

Channel Islands Air Search will receive a new interim craft this year, before getting a new plane fitted with upgraded equipment.
