Jersey blog uploads sniffer dog video

Video footage has been published of the initial stages in the Haut de La Garenne investigation for the first time.

In 2008, Jersey police began excavating inside the building and discovered what they said could be the partial remains of a child.

It was the work of a sniffer dog that gave officers enough evidence to kick-start their investigation and that is what is shown in the video.

The film was acquired and published by the blog site Voice For Children and the post includes comments from the senior investigating officer at the time, Lenny Harper.

The footage was shot on a mobile phone by police investigators at Haut de la Garenne in early 2008.
