Jersey to host British-Irish Council meeting in 2013

Jersey will host a meeting of the British-Irish Council next year.

The British-Irish Council was set up to promote relations between the governments in the UK, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

The last time delegates gathered in Jersey was in 2009 when they discussed how to protect minority languages.

At the last meeting in Dublin in January, Jersey's Chief Minister spoke about unemployment.
