Jersey probation service wants to expand scheme
Jersey's Probation Service is hoping the restorative justice scheme can be expanded to Jersey schools and other youth organisations.
The process brings victims of crime face to face with the perpetrators.
Jersey's probation service works with young offenders and victims and hopes to spread the scheme further.
Probation Service officer Chantelle Rose says it had made a remarkable difference to those involved.
Ms Rose said: "We did have one very very serious grave and criminal assault where the victim had life threatening injuries.
"We got both the victim and offender together, it was incredibly powerful and ended up with them both shaking hands at the end.
"There was another case where the offender was devastated about what they had done and it was the victim saying to the offender 'you must move on from this'."
