Changes made to Jersey sex offender laws

Convicted sex offenders will have to inform the authorities if they travel out of Jersey.

Changes to the Sex Offenders Law mean offenders need to give dates for when they intend to leave and return, and travel details.

Normally seven days' notice must be given, but under exceptional circumstances that could be 24 hours.

It brings in the equivalent UK law for notification requirements, restraining and child protection orders.
