Jersey warmest in British Isles
Jersey was the warmest place in the British Isles on Wednesday.
The top temperature recorded at the Maison St Louis observatory in St Helier was 27.3C (81.14F).
The Jersey Meteorological Department said it just beat Gravesend where they saw 27.1C (80.78F).
The department said further high temperatures were expected over the weekend as a warm south-easterly flow persisted over the Channel.
A spokesman for Jersey Meteorological Department said: "It is very likely Saturday will become the warmest October day ever recorded here in Jersey, beating 24.4C that occurred in 1959."
