Jersey treasury minister survives sacking vote

Treasury minister, Senator Philip Ozouf, has survived a vote in the States of Jersey to remain in his post.

Deputy Geoff Southern, of the Jersey Democratic Alliance ,brought a proposal to the States calling for the minister to be sacked by the chief minister.

The proposal came after a petition signed by more than 10,000 islanders asking for him to be sacked was presented to the States.

The States debated the proposal, which was lost by four votes to 37.
