A former Jersey teacher has lost his appeal against a jail term for making indecent images of children.

David Roy Forno, 36, of St Helier, appealed at the Royal Court against his seven year sentence.

In 2010 he was found guilty of 19 charges, including 12 counts of making indecent images of children.

Police began investigating him after school lessons on internet safety prompted a number of children to come forward.

Jersey Police investigated the case with the UK's Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) unit.

It was the training given to Jersey teachers by CEOP which prompted the children - aged between 10 and 13 - to report his activities.
