Foundation donates £30,000 for Jersey community centre

A Jersey Church has been given £30,000 to help create a modern youth and community centre.

The Lloyds TSB Foundation, which has donated more than £1m to Channel Island charities this year, gave the money to St Mark's Church for the centre.

Last year the vicar of St Mark's, the Reverend Martyn Shea, carried out a parachute jump to raise funds.

The jump was sponsored by parishioners to help raise £100,000 for toilet and kitchen facilities in the centre.
