Student intake record for Jersey college

Highlands College has attracted a record number of new students this year, with 50 more enrolled so far than last year, it said.

Nine hundred and thirty students are now registered at the college of further, higher and adult education.

Principal Ed Sallis said there may be more to come.

He added that the college was able to take more students because of money from a special States fund to stimulate the economy.
