Jersey's Overseas Aid Commission marks 40th anniversary

Jersey's Overseas Aid Commission has been marking its 40th anniversary with a weekend of events in the island.

About 150,000 volunteers have been involved with the organisation, fund-raising and volunteering to work in some of the world's poorest countries.

Projects have included building schools, water sanitation equipment and teaching facilities in remote villages.

Anniversary events being held included a Big Picnic in Howard Davies Park on Saturday with live music.
