Jersey Treasurer Ian Black resigns from post
The Treasurer of the States of Jersey has stepped down from the post following a period of illness.
Ian Black, who has held the post for 11 years, resigned by "mutual agreement" following discussions over recent weeks, the States announced.
Hugh McGarel Groves, who has been the interim Treasurer during Mr Black's illness will continue in the post while a permanent replacement is found.
The process is expected to take up to six months.
During Mr Black's 11 years in the post he led the development and implementation of a number of initiatives, including the centralisation of all financial processing, modernised the Public Finances Law and the incorporation of Jersey Telecom and Jersey Post.
