Joan Corran death: Man denies causing pedestrian death

A van driver has denied causing the death by careless driving of a 66-year-old pedestrian on the Isle of Man.

Joan Corran, a library assistant from Onchan, died after after being knocked down by a white Vauxhall Vivaro on Royal Avenue on 18 October.

The court heard Ms Corran was pronounced dead at the scene.

Keith Williams, 52 and of Maple Avenue in Onchan, pleaded not guilty at Douglas courthouse on Tuesday. The case was adjourned until 14 February.
