Isle of Man couple killed in three-car crash named

A married couple who died in a car crash on Monday on the Isle of Man have been named by police.

The driver, Daphne Tait, 79, died at the scene while her husband, 85-year-old James Tait, died later in hospital.

Police said the crash happened on the main Ramsey to Sulby Road in Churchtown, Lezayre at about 12:35 BST.

The driver of another car involved in the incident, a 68-year-old woman, is still being treated at Noble's Hospital for serious injuries, police added.

The driver of the third car was unhurt.

A police spokesman said: "Our thoughts are very much with Mr and Mrs Tait's family at this difficult time.

"We are progressing well with our inquiries and would again appeal for anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision to contact us."
