Almost 200 people dressed as Father Christmas have taken part in an annual Santa Dash on the Isle of Man, raising thousands of pounds for charity.

Jamie Newton beat 188 other Santas to win the one-mile (1.6km) race around Douglas for the first time.

Mr Newton said he was delighted to win and would be donating his prize money to the Manx capital's Children's Centre.

In 2014, nearly £15,000 was raised for 40 separate local charities.

The event was first held in 2001, when only 10 Santas took part.
