School children have been asked to design a mascot to mark the 15th anniversary of the Manx Youth Games.

Organisers want youngsters to invent and name their locally-themed mascot.

Sport Development Officer Gianni Epifani said the mascot should "epitomise the fun spirit of the games" in which 1,000 children take part in a dozen sports in Douglas.

The closing date for entries is 11 January. The winning entry will be unveiled at May's opening ceremony.
