IoM Victim Support branch in recruitment drive

A charity that supports crime victims in the Isle of Man has launched a recruitment drive for volunteers.

The Manx branch of Victim Support, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, is looking for people to help with fundraising.

The organisation said it had supported about 2,200 victims of crime and supported 1,380 witnesses.

This year it received a Isle of Man government grant of almost £80,000 and raised about £10,000 itself.

Manager, Paula Gelling said fundraising was "an uphill struggle".

More information is available from the Manx branch in Douglas.
