13 mobile users snared in Isle of Man police crackdown

Thirteen drivers have been caught in an Isle of Man police campaign to crack down on motorists using mobile phones.

The joint initiative was launched last month by the Manx government and the constabulary road safety team.

Police said teams have been patrolling major roads to stop and question anyone seen holding a handset while driving.

A spokesman added: "It should be remembered, penalties on the Isle of Man include a fine of up to £2,500 and four penalty points on your licence."
