New cycling festival held ahead of End to End challenge

People in the Isle of Man were asked to "bring their bicycles and get involved" in a new cycling festival in Douglas.

Douglas Development Partnership hosted the event to coincide with the annual End to End mountain bike race.

Organiser Chris Pycroft said he wanted as many people as possible to come down on their bikes and take part.

More than 1,700 cyclists started the 45 mile (72km) race.

According to End to End organiser Steve Honeybone this year's event was due to attract more than 700 competitors from off the island.
