Peel medical centre to become police station
A police station could open in a soon-to-be redundant health centre in the Isle of Man, if plans are approved.
Peel Medical Centre is due to move to new premises next to Corrin Memorial Home next month.
The Department of Home Affairs has applied to convert it into a police station, moving officers from their current base at the former court house.
Head of neighbourhood policing Supt Paul Cubbon said the court house was "not conducive to modern policing".
"If the change of use is granted, the medical centre would also offer better parking facilities and public access," he added.
The application to change the use of the building was lodged with the planning committee on Thursday.
