Isle of Man Government vintage car tax U-turn
The Isle of Man Government is set to drop plans to increase the road tax for vintage cars.
Phil Gawne, the Manx Government's Infrastructure Minister, said the government was abandoning plans to raise the duty to £20.
The change follows a public consultation by the government.
The Vehicle Duty Order 2011/12 has now been finalised and will go before Tynwald, the Isle of Man's parliament shortly.
Mr Gawne said: "The veteran vehicle owners made it absolutely clear that £20 duty for vehicles that might be brought out onto the roads once or twice a year and was a hobby, seemed a bit excessive."
He added: "We've taken that on board and we're going back to £10, assuming Tynwald supports us."
