Businesses in the Isle of Man are losing trade because of the bad weather, a shopping centre manager has warned.

With heavy snow affecting public transport, John Shakespeare, boss of the Strand in Douglas, said footfall had decreased.

He also said many shop employees had not made it into work.

Schools have reopened after they were closed on Monday, but Bus Vannin said some of its services may be cancelled.

"We have been a bit down on footfall," Mr Shakespeare said. "And with the buses not running that has obviously had an effect."

People are being urged to be extra careful on the roads with the icy weather.
