Poppy Appeal box stolen from Isle of Man church

A Poppy Appeal collection box was stolen from an Isle of Man church, police have said.

The box, raising money for the Royal British Legion, was stolen from Maughold Church on Wednesday.

It had been due to be presented to the Legion at the Remembrance Day service on Thursday.

Pc Matt Creer, of the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team said it was a "despicable" offence and urged anyone with information to contact police.
