Fewer passengers travel through Douglas harbour
The number of passengers travelling through Douglas harbour fell last month compared to the same time last year, government figures show.
A total of 62,579 people used the harbour in September compared to 65,023 people in the same month in 2009.
The figures show a drop of 3.8%. Vehicle numbers also fell by 2.9%.
David Callister MLC, member for harbours, said: "Whilst this year's figures are 3.8% down on 2009 they are actually 6.0% up on 2008."
Mr Callister said: "September figures are always likely to vary dependant for example on when schools go back and travel dates for returning MGP [Manx Grand Prix] traffic."
