Guernsey speed limit drop in Vale made permanent

Changes to speed limits made near a Guernsey school will remain in place.

The drop from 35mph to 25mph and traffic-calming measures were introduced at the start of the year in a bid to improve road safety.

The Environment Department said it had received no comments about the changes so the speed limit would be permanently enshrined in law from 1 January.

The changes were made after a review of the area due to two deaths, including that of a seven-year-old girl in 2012.
