Guernsey man charged with assaulting police officer

A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer, using or threatening violence and escaping custody after an incident on Saturday.

Nathan Terry Thomson, 23, of Serre Chevalier, Le Ville Baudu, Vale was remanded in custody when he appeared at Guernsey's Magistrates' Court.

The window fitter is due to reappear before the court on Thursday.

Two other people were arrested after the incident, which started at about 22:00 BST at the Bridge, St Sampson.

Investigations are ongoing, said a police spokesman.
