Guernsey armed police called after 'weapon' sighting

Armed police were deployed to deal with a man suspected of carrying a weapon.

Officers were called by a member of the public to Smith Street, St Peter Port, just after 23:00 BST on Tuesday.

The man was extremely drunk and found not to be carrying anything dangerous, Guernsey Police said.

He was released without charge after sobering up.
